Qëndrim R. Gashi

I am an associate professor of Mathematics at the University of Prishtina and have given talks on my research at many universities.

My research is in the areas of Representation Theory, Algebraic Geometry, Number Theory and combinatorial aspects thereof. For reprints and preprints, please visit my Research page.

In 2008, together with colleagues, I founded the Kosovar Mathematical Society and served as its first President (2008-2012).

Mathematics is not my only passion. From June 2016 until August 2021 I served as Kosovo's Ambassador to France. In 2011 I served as a foreign policy advisor to the President of Kosovo, Ms. Atifete Jahjaga.

I have served or serve as a member in supervisory boards as well as in advisory or consultant roles for various private and state institutions and think tanks and non-governmental organizations.

I have won scholarships, awards and honors both in the United States and in Europe for my research and teaching. In 2022 I was happy to receive the insignia of Commander of the French Legion of Honor.

I have a PhD (2008) and MS (2004) from the University of Chicago, an MA St (2003) from the University of Cambridge, and a Diploma (2002) from the University of Prishtina, all in mathematics.
